I am seriously in awe of the events of this day. I can't even write about it now. Okay, that's just silly...let me attempt to sum up some of today's remarkable occurences.
It started out like any other day, robotically going through the drill at safeway/starbucks. One thing kept me excited about getting home well, besides that I have four delightful felines waiting at the door for me on a daily basis.
Tori Amos' new disc was scheduled to arrive today. I come home to find no parcel on the porch, so natcherly I was bumming.
I am greeted by the furry foursome and cheer up immensely. Five minutes later, the doorbell rings and I find TORI waiting for me.
Wait, it gets better. Half an hour later, I decide I'm not really ready to focus fully on the new Tori sonics, so I begin watching a Marlon Brando documentary on TCM.
The phone rings.
It's my friend, Nicole-and she says that she'd like to bring MY new moped over. WHAAAT? She just wants to make certain that it meets with my approval.
I should explain that the act of driving terrifies me and that I get around mostly by pounding the pavement and by public transportation.
BUT, I like biking a great deal. It's just that all of those SUVs kinda harsh my buzz when it comes to traveling outside of a three mile radius.
Her father's neighbor had this moped that's been gathering dust in the garage for about eight years and made an offer to sell it for 150 bucks.
Nicole, bless her bones, immediately thought of me and purchased it. She delivered it to me this evening. It was love at first sight.
What a revelation! As soon as I pulled it from her truck and wrapped my legs around "Lucy" I knew that this was a match forged in something like Heaven.
Now, I just need to find out how to operate this lovely machine. It's a Moped Bravo Piaggio, I think. At least, those are the labels to be found on various portions of her anatomy.
So, what kind of license is required to take to the streets? I don't know yet. The speedometer only goes up to 40 MPH, so I'm guessing that Lucy's not suited for the highway-and that's just fine with me.
The best news of all is that my estranged partner in puppeteering, John, rang me up outta the blue and said that he wants to be pals again. I'm, as they say in Great Britain, utterly gobsmacked. I've tried countless times to rekindle our partnership ove r the past several months. He's a moody ass and I had just about given up hope in ever performing with him again.
We gabbed for at least a coupla hours and he's probably coming over on Saturday. I can hardly wait to see him.
There's even more to say about today, but I think that some of you are probably already bored to tears. Thanks for listening, though.
Yours truly, R.12

What do you think of Bjork's new song, "Earth Intruders"? It makes me want to get naked, slather myself in mud, twigs and leaves... and dance wildly. Anybody have a similar reaction?
I'm really excited about getting Tori Amos' new effort, "American Doll Posse". It should arrive on Tuesday or Wednesday in my trusty mailbox.
I'm going to Boulder with some friends today which should be fun, haven't been there in a long while. Maybe I'll get to go to my favorite comic book store, "Time Warp".
I hope that all is mostly groovy for all y'all.

Yippitydoodah! My concert-going agenda this year includes seeing Bjork at Red Rocks Amphitheater. I think that the word "amphitheater" means that you can choose to participate while partially submerged in water.
I'm excited about Bjork, but possibly even more thrilled about the fact that I'll be seeing CYNDI LAUPER for the first time in my life-AND she's appearing with Erasure*. Does it get any better? I don't wanna know.
Anywaysies, I haven't been around for a while-and it's great to see alla y'all and all.

*Erasure's new single is out now. It's called "I Could Fall in Love with You". Give it a go.
I also heard that their new release "Light at the End of the World" will feature a duet with Cyndi Lauper.

I am a fantastic cook. BUT-and there's a BUT...it must be vegetarian fare, but I guarantee a brilliant culinary experience.
So, intrepid ones, what I am presenting to you is a challenge to your carnivorous ways.
Protein sources will be well-presented, but none of our animal brethren will be displayed at my table.
I know what you're thinking. Whassup widdat? Just pull on up and I'll clue you in, Cosmic Bruhs and Sistahs...
Okay, okay, I'm fueled by vodka and the rough effects of another day at Starbucks, but...and there's another BUT...think about the MEAT you eat each day. What if you had to go out and KILL in order to satisfy your flesh-cravings? YIPES! JUST Imagine yourself drenched in the blood of freshly-killed "Bessie"...
Pretty disgusting notion? You betcher luscious patootie.
Would you really enjoy bashing the skull of a cow so that you could enjoy a Mc Burger or a fajita? Wouldja, couldja?
If so, well, I can not begin to express my complete disappointment in you. People are animals too...so why not do us all a monumental favor and resort to eating your neighbors?
Okay, I'm babbling...label me a Babbler, if you must, but consider this...WHAT IF!?
What if you were not the Highest of Muckity Mucks on the food chain?
Just mull it over, why dontcha...and then get back to me.
(Your Beloved RoboCat, who has sustained himself on a vegetarian diet for these past fifteen years)
